Custom Made Vinyl Wall Covering

Written by BGD on May 18th, 2015

For one of our commercial projects, we were asked to brainstorm, conceptualize and design wall coverings for large wall space within the corporate offices. They wanted it to convey their speed to market process of their company, how they work, the elements that go into their products, their relationships and their customer service.

We immediately got to brainstorming! One of our head designers started out analyzing the meaning of the barcode and what it represented. Seeing how much the product has transformed and how technological advances have improved their business, we transitioned this concept to communication lines and the immense connectivity of the industrial markets. The below images are the brainstorming process starting out on 8 1/2″ x 11″ pieces of paper to true size mock up of what will cover the walls of the innovation company.

Landscape Design

Written by BGD on April 30th, 2015

Spring is here and it is time to get our gardens ready! When starting a project or beginning a renovation, the landscape design is done concurrently with the design of the home.

Below are examples of landscape design in several of our projects!

Luis Barragan is one of the most well known architects and designers of the 20th century. Having been known for transforming the International style by adding bold colors and forms, and emphasizing his buildings with the surroundings and nature around it, Luis brought a perspective of Modernism to Mexico. Luis experimented and explored the use of space and light and the result was always something extraordinary.

A Family Kitchen

Written by BGD on April 20th, 2015

When starting the design of kitchen, we try to figure out how integral the kitchen is into the daily life of the family. How the functionality of the design serves the family is the most important aspect when designing a kitchen for a home. The style of the cabinetry is where we start as this is the main focal point of most kitchens. Below are images of cabinetry styles and hardware chosen and designed by bgd.

Exterior Styling

Written by BGD on March 30th, 2015

Though it seems far off, Spring is almost here and it is time to start planning for summer barbecues and outdoor relaxing! Here is an example of one of our completed outdoor projects.

Our client wanted several areas within their outdoor space that served different purposes. As seen in the plan, we created an area for dining, an area for comfort and entertaining and an area for a more playful environment for the kids!

What makes the division of areas successful here is that each space does not feel overcrowded. The distances between them allow for interaction but also a separation providing a different atmosphere whether it be for entertaining or for family time.

The Eye for Art

Written by BGD on March 24th, 2015

Art is  one of the most important focal points in any commercial and residential space. When starting a project, the first area of interest that we address is what art is being used where in the space and if art is needed to be picked out and bought for the space. Once we determine these details then we choose how to design around the art. The reason being is that art similar to past times reflects interests, cultural pursuits and personalities. A space that feels complete and is designed well integrates art, furniture and personal items throughout.

On the topic of arranging or executing a gallery, we think of it like a collage by mixing colors, forms, sizes and patterns as well as mixing personal items displaying current interests as well as items collected in the past. Here are a few spaces that do just this!
